The Deacon Family Ministry exists for the purpose of assisting our pastor in the various ministry needs of the church family. Currently, we have five ordained men who serve in this role; with each man having as many as eight families assigned to his particular care. This allows us to know of needs more quickly within the congregation and to meet those needs. It also provides a more direct channel of communication from members back to the church leadership. We also have a training program that allows for other men to be mentored into serving as deacons here. The deacon body comes alongside the pastor and provides support and ministerial help whenever and wherever needed. The pastor serves as our shepherd and the deacons serve as under-shepherds.

Sunday Evening Kid's Club

The Sunday Evening Kid's Club is for all school-aged children. It meets every Sunday evening at the church at 5 pm. This is a great time of fun, games, and learning more about the Christian faith through interaction. Kid's Club is a fun, safe place where children can grow together in their relationship with our Lord and with each other.

The Music Ministry of Sequoia Baptist Church is presently focused upon our worship choir, comprised of both adults and youth. This choir practices every Sunday evening (7:30-8:30) and participates in every Sunday morning worship service. Our purpose is to assist the congregation in worshiping through the singing of hymns and praise songs, and to help focus the attention of worshipers toward the message. It provides those with musical talents and opportunity to serve the Lord through their gifts.

Youth Ministry

The Youth Ministry of Sequoia Baptist Church provides a small group Bible study time every Sunday morning (9:30-10:30), as well as opportunities for various fun, fellowship activities. Our youth group also attends various youth conferences and summer camps. The goal of our youth ministry is to help teenagers learn to make wise choices according to biblical teaching and to grow deeper in their commitment to Jesus.

Senior Adults

The Senior Adult Ministries provides times of fellowship that would be of interest to senior adults. We attend concerts, plays, and other activities, as well as various senior adult conferences where the focus is on growing in our Christian life. We encourage senior adults to find places of involvement in the church and in their community.

Free classes that meet each Friday from 10 am to 12 pm. The focus is conversational English, with help for preparing to take the US citizenship test.
